Acen was an early 1990s UK rave and hardcore breakbeat techno producer. It was with Production House that Acen released his first hit %22Close Your Eyes%22, which instantly became a hardcore breakbeat anthem. In quick succession Acen released tunes such as %22Trip II The Moon%22, %22Window In The Sky%22 and his debut album %2275 Minutes%22. %22Trip II The Moon%22 is Acen's landmark release, it’s popularity in the club scene ensured that only a trilogy of remix releases could satisfy public demand. It remains a key record in DJs' record boxes to this day. Even though Acen's releases were not licensed to majors, remaining on Production House, %22Close Your Eyes%22 went on to be Music Week's Dance Single of the Year and %22Trip II the Moon%22 went Top 40 in 1992. Later Acen experimented with Drum n Bass releasing tracks such as %22No More%22 and %22116.7%22 on Warner's subsidiary F-111. More recently however, he can be seen behind the lens directing/cutting films and music promos. Acen's latest release %22Dirty Raver%22 (2004) appeared on Rennie Pilgrem's TCR label of which, the video was also directed by himself.
