| - Science Commons (SC) war ein Projekt von Creative Commons (CC) von 2005 bis 2009. Ziel war es, Strategien und Werkzeuge für eine schnellere und effizientere web-gestützte Wissenschaft zu entwickeln. Dafür spürte Science Commons unnötige Hürden im Forschungsbetrieb auf und schrieb Regelwerke und Verträge, um diese zu vermindern. Des Weiteren erstellte Science Commons Technologien, die helfen sollten, Daten und Materialien in der Forschung leichter zu finden und zu nutzen. Die Projektsprache war auf das Englisch begrenzt. Creative Commons beendete das Projekt im Jahr 2009.

Jego celem jest identyfikacja i usunięcie przeszkód prawnych oraz organizacyjnych utrudniających wymianę informacji i wprowadzenie danych do obiegu naukowego. Siedziba Science Commons mieści się na MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory w Massachusetts Institute of Technology w Cambridge, Massachusetts.

- Science Commons (SC) was a Creative Commons project for designing strategies and tools for faster, more efficient web-enabled scientific research. The organization's goals were to identify unnecessary barriers to research, craft policy guidelines and legal agreements to lower those barriers, and develop technology to make research data and materials easier to find and use. Its overarching goal was to speed the translation of data into discovery and thereby the value of research.
- Science Commons va ser un projecte de Creative Commons que va iniciar-se a començaments del 2005 i va finalitzar el 2009. El seu objectiu principal va ser traslladar la filosofia del projecte mare al camp de la recerca científica. Es va partir de la crítica feta per molts científics que han assenyalat que avui en dia, malgrat els grans avenços tecnològics que podrien permetre un accés i un processament distribuït de les dades a escala mundial, les restriccions legals vigents posen traves a l'avanç de la ciència.
