Died 28th February 2008, in Aylesbury, England.Smith joined the Dave Clark Five in 1960, as lead singer and keyboardist. Since that group disbanded in 1970, he had been active as a producer (for Shirley Bassey and others), and as composer and performer of jingles, and commercials.He formed Mike Smith's Rock Engine in the early 2000s.
