British 1969–1974 pub rock band evolved from Kippington Lodge. For the band's name giver, guitarist Brinsley Schwarz, see Brinsley Schwarz (2). Two band songs in particular has a role in rock history. The song %22Cruel to be kind%22 was recorded in the sessions for the bands final 1974 [m=411587] album but never made it to the record. Instead it was released on Nick Lowe's first solo album and in 1979 Lowe re-recorded [m=37021] and made it a major solo hit. Another song from the sessions - %22[m=536844]%22 - did make to the album and later became a hit for Elvis Costello. In 1972 the band backed Frankie Miller on his debut album, [m=364531]
