abstract	Irish musician, born December 4th, 1947 in Dublin. Instruments played: Cittern, Concertina, Mandolin, Banjo, Vocals, and many more.In 1967 Terry joined the first Irish folk rock band: [a1360467], taking their name from a character in Flann O'Brien's book %22At Swim Two Birds%22. The other members were Andy Irvine (vocals, mandolin, guitar, harmonica) and Johnny Moynihan (vocals, tin whistle, bouzouki). They released two album and split in 1969.Terry and his wife Gay then went to England, where they met up with Ashley Hutchings from [a102994]. The folk duo Tim Hart and Maddy Prior and Terry's wife Gay joined them and they became [a290701], releasing %22Hark! The village wait%22 in 1970. Directly afterwards the group split up due to personal differences. Gay and Terry formed %22The Woods Band%22 and at the same time Steeleye Span reformed without them.

He is also a singer and songwriter. He is known for his membership in such folk and folk-rock groups as The Pogues, Steeleye Span, Sweeney's Men, The Bucks and, briefly, Dr. Strangely Strange and Dublin rock band Orphanage, with Phil Lynott, as well as in a duo/band with his then wife, Gay, billed initially as The Woods Band and later as Gay and Terry Woods. Woods has toured with The Pogues on their reunion concerts. Terry is married to Marian Skeffington and they have two daughters.
