| - Bronx rapper Tim Dog (born Timothy Blair in 1967). Affiliated with the Ultramagnetic MC's since 1988, he continued to work with Kool Keith throughout his career. Tim Dog gained notoriety for the controversial 1991 diss track and music video for %22Fuck Compton%22 off his acclaimed debut LP [m=135270], which many critics look at as the opening salvo of the East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry that escalated during the mid-1990s. In 1994 Tim Dog released another infamous West Coast diss track on the EP [m=172445], this one aimed exclusively at Death Row Records' artist Snoop Dogg, with a censored music video also becoming a staple on MTV at the time. Signed to Ruffhouse Records from 1991 to 1993, all his releases following [m=135268] were released independently, mostly on his own label Big City Entertainment. In 1996 Tim Dog teamed up with Kool Keith to release the album [m=172442], the two would also team up again for a second and last time in 2009 on the album %22Project X: Iconic%22. Most of Tim Dogs later releases suffered from poor promotion and distribution, with albums like 2002's Immortal and 2006's BX Warrior being commercially unsuccessful, although critically praised for their lyrical dexterity. Irritated by the over-night commercial mainstream success of N.W.A and Death Row Records, Tim Dog nevertheless praised other %22hardcore%22 more politically-minded west-coast artists at the time such as Ice T, Ice Cube, and label mates Cypress Hill.In 2011, Tim Dog pleaded guilty to grand larceny for conning a woman out of $32,000 in an online dating scam. He was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay restitution of $19,000. The case was featured on the June 15 2012, episode of Dateline NBC. After relocating from New York to Atlanta, Blair died on February 14th 2013 after suffering a seizure following his lengthy battle with diabetes.

| - Timothy Blair (January 3, 1967 – February 14, 2013), better known by his stage name Tim Dog was an American rapper from the Bronx, New York, who rose to prominence during the early 1990s with his debut LP Penicillin on Wax and the celebrated diss track %22Fuck Compton.%22 Tim had already appeared on songs with the Ultramagnetic MCs and went on to form a duo, Ultra with member Kool Keith. %22Fuck Compton%22 appeared in XXL magazine's %22Top 25 Diss Tracks of All Time%22 and earned Tim Dog critical acclaim from progressive hip-hop producer Blockhead, who said Tim Dog's %22The Dog's Gonna Getcha%22 (off Penicillin On Wax) is %22quite possibly the hardest song ever made.%22Nas shouts out Tim Dog on his track %22Where Are They Now?%22 from his 2006 Album Hip Hop Is Dead, and, despite Tim Dog's beef with Dr. Dre, Eminem (whom Dre had discovered) name-checked him on the track %22Ricky Ticky Toc.%22On February 14, 2013, the media reported that Tim Dog died of complications from diabetes. By May 2013, he was under investigation for allegedly faking his death to avoid charges of grand larceny, and a warrant was issued in Mississippi for his arrest. However, on September 15th, 2014, it was finally confirmed by NBC News that Tim Dog had indeed died on February 14, 2013, as had been initially reported, but then disputed. A death certificate was filed in Dekalb County, Georgia, putting an end to speculation that he was still alive and trying to avoid his court-mandated debts.
