| - Scottish-born American recording artist. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, hard rock vocalist Terry McDermott moved to the U.S. to pursue his singing career with his band Driveblind. The band toured extensively throughout the US (coast to coast) supporting and performing with acts such as Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, Candlebox, Whitestarr, Nikka Costa, Matisyahu, The Bravery, Hot Hot Heat, The Charlatans UK and English band The Thieves.After things fell through with Driveblind, McDermott formed another rock and alternative pop band called Lotus Crush with Candlebox members Peter Klett and Scott Mercado (who met McDermott when previous band Driveblind supported Candlebox in 2006) MIGGS member John Luzzi, and Second Coming bassist, Johnny Bacolas. Possibly best known for being a a contestant on the third season of NBC musical television series ‘The Voice’, singing for the team lead by country music superstar Blake Shelton. The All Music Guide has praised him as a “a passionate, resonant-voiced singer”. He ultimately finished in second place behind winner Cassadee Pope.Now currently splitting his talents between Lotus Crush and fronting his new band Terry McDermott & The Bonfires. The line up includes Americans David Rosser (Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, Gutter Twins, Northsouth), Eric Bolivar (Anders Osbourne, Eric Burden & The Animals), British bass player Alex Smith (World Leader Pretend, Rotary Down) and keyboardist Richard Hyland of Scottish indie artists The Needles.
