In a career spanning more than 50 years, Daltrey came to prominence in the mid 1960s as the founder and lead singer of the English rock band The Who, which released fourteen singles that entered the top ten charts in the United Kingdom during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, including %22I Can't Explain%22, %22My Generation%22, %22Substitute%22, %22I'm a Boy%22, %22Happy Jack%22, %22Pictures of Lily%22, %22Pinball Wizard%22, %22Won't Get Fooled Again%22, and %22You Better You Bet%22. Daltrey began his solo career in 1973, while still a member of the Who. Since then, he has released eight studio albums, five compilation albums, and one live album. His solo hits include %22Giving It All Away%22, %22Walking the Dog%22, %22Written on the Wind%22, %22Free Me%22, %22Without Your Love%22, %22Walking in My Sleep%22, %22After the Fire%22, and %22Under a Raging Moon%22. In 2010 he was ranked as number 61 on Rolling Stone 's list of the 100 greatest singers of all time.Daltrey has been known as one of the most charismatic of rock's front-men and famed for his powerful voice and energetic stage presence.
