  • Larry Taylor, also known by his nickname the [a4993498] (born June 26, 1942, New York City, New York, USA) is an American bass guitarist and occasional lead guitarist. He is perhaps best known for his work as a member of [a269094] from 1967 until the present. Before joining Canned Heat he had been a session bassist for [a132927] and [a229194]. He left Canned Heat in May, 1970, to join [a299538]. From 2009-2013, he toured extensively with some of the original members of Canned Heat. More recently, Taylor has become a leading exponent and practitioner of the acoustic upright bass in the contemporary blues scene. He is the younger brother of [a475343], long-time drummer for The Ventures
