abstract
  • When the guitarist [a477813] and the singer [a477815] founded the band Fool’s Garden in 1991, they couldn't really have figured what a great success their song %22[url=http://www.discogs.com/master/101446]Lemon Tree[/url]%22 would have had in 1996. This megahit conquered the charts all around the world and, even nowadays, it's always played and sung along everywhere. In order to continue with this success, the band had a new beginning in 2003. Peter and Volker went on tour with a new band, a new album and a label of their own, with big success among old and new fans. And the new live musicians [a715547] (guitar), [a629426] (drums) and [a1412394] (bass) became the new members of Fool's Garden.

  • Fools Garden is a German musical group, formed in 1991 under the name Fool's Garden, comprising singer Peter Freudenthaler, guitarist Volker Hinkel, bassist Thomas Mangold, keyboardist Roland Röhl and drummer Ralf Wochele. They debuted in 1991 with the eponymous album Fool's Garden (where the band was essentially formed by Freudenthaler and Hinkel with additional musicians), while the proper first album which saw the complete band was Once in a Blue Moon (1993). Two years later Fool's Garden issued their third album Dish of the Day, scoring a European and Asian chart hit with %22Lemon Tree%22. The re-issued track peaked at #26 in the UK Singles Chart in August 1996.Go And Ask Peggy For The Principal Thing followed in 1997, along with three albums in 2000, 2003 and 2005. In 2003, three members left the band, and were replaced by Dirk Blümlein (bassist), Claus Müller (drummer) and Gabriel Holz (second guitarist, who then left the band in 2007), and the name of the band changed to Fools Garden (without the apostrophe). The band has taken the habit of covering rock and roll songs during live performances (The Beatles' %22Ticket to Ride%22 or The Who's %22My Generation%22). Fools Garden's interest in British music is such that cover versions of The Beatles's songs %22Cry Baby Cry%22 and %22Martha My Dear%22 appeared on their studio albums. The band released a greatest hits compilation album in October 2009. The album, High Times, contained fifteen songs including a brand new song, %22High Time%22, and some of the well-known hits re-recorded with the new band (%22Lemon Tree%22, %22Wild Days%22, %22Suzy%22).The latest album Who Is Jo King? was released in October 2012.
