abstract
| - Dr. Steel is a man of many talents with one simple goal; to make the world a better place. Through entertainment, vision and passion, Dr. Steel feeds the hungry masses who starve for happiness.%22It all comes down to having fun. We spend our lives trapped, when all we really want to do is play. So, let the people play! Let us build a Utopian playland.%22~Dr. SteelDr. Phineas Waldolf Steel is a toy inventor gone mad, that operates from his island laboratory and is set on world domination with his army of robots, deviant toy miss creations, and audio propaganda. He is an extravagant multi-talented artist who has appeared at various comic conventions, been published in conspiracy magazines, reportedly has a robot band (though always out of commission due to exploding problems), puppeteers and a puppet show on-stage always when performing, and numerous operations/assignments for his devote international fan base army (composed in divisions of Toy Soldiers, Toy Scouts and Nurses) to help him take over the world. His music follows this premise. Lyrically he talks about toys, madness and his quest for global domination, often sampling or referencing television shows or pop culture phenomena from his childhood. His style has been termed 'Hip-Hop Industrial Opera'. Based out of California, he has primarily operated more as a phenomena with his music, websites, and conspiracy theories but remains true to his fan communities with a close relationship, involvement and participation in subversive activities such as demonstrations to promote Dr. Steel as world emperor.

Shows incorporated puppetry, multimedia and performances by female members (%22Nurses%22 and %22Scouts%22) of his street team, The Army of Toy Soldiers. Steel made a brief appearance on The Tonight Show and has had numerous interviews. He was the subject of an article in Wired Magazine regarding allegations that Dr. Horrible had copied his style.
