  • Formed in 1997 - London, EnglandAkercocke are a British Death Metal band with overt Black Metal, Progressive Rock and Electronic influences.The band was formed by longtime friends David Gray and Jason Mendonca. Since its inception, the band has courted controversy due to an overt use of sexual and satanic imagery and themes.A Live CD/DVD and a new album set to be released in 2010 remain unreleased, and according to various band members Akercocke have split up.They played one last show in April 2011 in France.Akercocke revealed a surprise reunion as a band in 2016, posting a brand new song on Youtube, titled 'Inner Sanctum' on 24 April 2016. They also announced their first UK tour since reforming, which is scheduled to take place between September and October 2016. They launched a new official website on 25 April 2016, where there was an official announcement stating they are due to release their new studio album 'Renaissance in Extremis' in 2016, which will be their first new release in 9 years since 2007's 'Antichrist'.
