  • The Austrian Black Metal band Abigor was formed in mid 1993 by P.K. (guitar) and T.T (guitars/drums). They were soon joined by Rune (now known as Tharen) who did the vocals. The same year, autumn, they released the demo %22Ash Nazgh...%22 and in december they released %22Lux Devicta Est%22. In 1994 they released %22Promotape 2/94%22 and the fourth and last official demo, %22Moonrise%22. After the release Tharen was replaced by Silenius and the band recorded the compilation tape %22Hate & Sin%22 to test the new vocalist and prepare for the first album, signed to the Austrian label, Napalm Records. In June 1994, they released their debut album, %22Verwüstung/Invoke the Dark Age%22, which marked them as one of the best bands in their genre. Same year, November, they released %22Orkblut - The Retaliation%22, which was a story about the life of a warrior. In 1995 they released %22Nachthymnen (From the Twilight Kingdom)%22, which showed that Abigor can make majestic soundscapes of dark atmospheres as its best. Same year they started the recordings for the first chapter of 'Opus IV', entitled 'Horns Lurk Beyond the Stars'. In May 1996, they finished the second chapter, %22Blut Aus Aeonen%22, for %22Opus IV%22, which was released July 1996. In 1997, the MCD %22Apokalypse%22 was released. It took the band two days to record it and it was their most brutal record so far. In 1998 %22Supreme Immortal Art%22 was released as CD and studio outtakes of 2 tracks were used for the 7%22 %22Structures of Immortality%22. Fans kept asking about material from demos to be released, so Abigor decided to release a limited cd titled %22Origo Regium 1993-1994%22, which had some songs from the demos. During the recordings of %22Channeling the Quintessence of Satan%22, Silenius left the band, but was replaced by Thurisaz. Album was recorded and released same year. Abigor also did a Slayer cover, %22Crionics%22, and a Kreator cover, %22Terrible Certainty%22, both for American labels´ tribute compilations. after these recordings TT left Abigor. In 2000 PK and Thurisaz started the work on %22Satanized (A Journey Through Cosmic Infinity)%22. Moritz Neuner joined as drummer. %22Satanized%22 was released in 2001. Abigor unfortunately broke up in 2003. In March 2006 the original line-up consisting of TT (guitars/drums) and PK (guitars) reunited Abigor, with AR (Arthur Rosar) as the new vocalist and End All Life as new label.
