Abstract The 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic confirms that for the past forty years most of epidemics have been linked to interspecific transmission of viruses between wild fauna and human beings. They are the consequence of man putting out of balance ecosystems that had been preserved so far. The obvious links between environmental changes and pandemics must lead to a sustainable commitment in favour of the environment and human health.
